Resources
At Lightyear Foundation, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore and thrive in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Our work focuses on breaking down barriers and creating inclusive opportunities so that deaf, disabled and neurodivergent young people can fully participate in STEM.
Over many years of working with schools, families, STEM organisations and industry partners, we’ve developed a growing body of knowledge about what makes STEM engagement truly accessible and inclusive.
This section of our website brings together a selection of the resources we’ve created or curated to help others do the same. You’ll find practical guides, toolkits, background information and signposts to useful materials that support more inclusive STEM practice. Some resources are designed for educators and organisations, while others may be useful for families, community groups and anyone interested in accessible STEM.
These pages share some of the many resources we have available, but they are only part of the picture. Our team works closely with a wide range of partners and networks across the STEM and disability sectors, and we are always happy to point people towards additional materials, organisations or expertise that might help.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, or if you would like advice on making your STEM activities more accessible, please do get in touch. We’d be delighted to help or to connect you with others who may be able to support your work.
