Are you passionate about inclusive STEM? Lightyear Foundation is seeking trustees to help shape strategy, champion accessibility, and empower young disabled and neurodivergent people. We’re particularly keen to hear from:
Individuals with lived experience of disability or neurodivergence
STEM professionals (digital, engineering, education, finance)
Strategic governance, marketing, legal, or fundraising experts
Role Summary:
As a Trustee, you will be part of the governing body of Lightyear Foundation, ensuring the charity delivers its mission, complies with its legal duties, and uses its resources effectively. Trustees work collectively and bring their expertise, insight, and lived experience to shape the strategy, sustainability, and impact of the organisation.

Freelance Vacancies
We are looking for freelancers based in Northern Ireland to help us deliver two pieces of work:
Work Inspiration Trips: £450 + travel expenses (up to £150) to host three trips to STEM venues for SEND students in NI between Oct 2025 - May 2026 (rate is £150 per trip + travel expenses)
STEM Lead: £600 for up to 4 days of planning & delivering inclusive activities in SEND schools in NI (rate is £150 per day + travel expenses)
The work will be fully supported by the Lightyear Foundation team, including admin support and all recruitment of STEM venues & schools.
We would love to hear from applicants who have:
Experience working with and supporting SEND students
Science communicator background and/or teaching experience

Lightyear Youth Group
The Lightyear STEM Youth Group is a group of disabled and neurodivergent young people aged 14-25, who meet regularly to share their stories, experiences, and ideas about STEM with each other and with the Lightyear Foundation.
