The Big give campaign 2025
During our Summer Campaign you pledged a whopping £3500 and we couldn’t be more grateful. This Christmas is your chance to help us double that!
Our Big Give’s Christmas Challenge, will run from 2–9 December and that will be YOUR time to get involved.
We’re thrilled to share that thanks to the generosity of our amazing pledgers, we unlocked matched funding from our Champion, the AKO Foundation.
This means that between December 2 - 9, every donation made to Lightyear Foundation will be doubled by the Big Give, helping us break down even more barriers to STEM for disabled and neurodivergent young people.
Our target? £7,000.
This means at the end of the campaign week together we'll have raised a whopping £14,000!

Countdown to Our Big Give Christmas Advert Begins! We’ll be releasing our new Big Give Christmas campaign advert on 2 December. The countdown starts today - we can’t wait to share it with you!
Spot the Christmas Hat Competition! Throughout the campaign week, each of our posts will feature a hidden Christmas hat. If you find it, comment where you see it. Everyone who comments correctly will be entered into a raffle for a special prize, revealed after the fundraising week. So keep your eyes peeled!

Your Donation + Big Give = Double the STEM Impact
£5 doubles to £10 = Equipment for TWO children in a Lightning Lab
£20 doubles to £40 = Provides kit for 8 students in a Lightning Lab or 2 children for four sessions in a Lightyear Lab
£50 doubles to £100 = Pays for a STEM speaker for our Lightyear Youth Group.
£100 doubles to £200 = Delivery of a Lightning Lab for 10 students
£500 doubles to £1000 = Funds a one day immersive sensory science dome experience
£1000 doubles to £2000: Pays for a Work Inspiration trip for a special school
This Christmas, your donation will go twice as far in supporting the next generation of scientists, engineers, and tech innovators.
Why it matters
At Lightyear Foundation, we believe STEM is for everyone. But right now, disabled and neurodivergent children and young people are significantly underrepresented in STEM education and careers.
That’s why we create inclusive, sensory-friendly STEM programmes that ignite curiosity, build confidence, and foster a sense of belonging. From Lightning Labs to school outreach, immersive domes to work experience trips - we’re breaking down the barriers that prevent participation.
