JOIN OUR BOARD – TRUSTEES WANTED!

 

Role: We are currently recruiting for 1 x Trustee and 1 x Treasurer.

Salary: Voluntary – unpaid. Reasonable travel and other expenses reimbursed.

Commitment: Quarterly Board Meetings – 4 times a year via Zoom, typically on a Monday evening at 6:30pm.

Additional willingness to liaise with the management team if your particular advice/expertise is required for a specific task. Equivalent to approx. 20 hours per year.

 As an incorporated charity, Trustee liability is limited to £10.

Skills sought: We are particularly looking for one or more of the following skills/experience to complement our existing Trustees. However, we’re very open to hear from all applicants!

·       Lived disability experience

·       Company secretary

·       Finance

·       HR

·       Small charity experience

Treasurer role:  Lightyear is a small charity with simple accounts. We have a professional accountant who does our year-end accounting and our CEO takes care of our book-keeping. We are seeking a Trustee Treasurer who can offer:

·       General financial oversight; the Treasurer typically acts as an information and reference point for the Chair and other Trustees

·       Along with the Chair and Deputy Chair approving online payments (we have a two-person approval for payments)

·       Assisting with any financial paperwork (such as adding or removing signatories from our bank account)

·       Signing end of year accounts

·       If shortlisted, invited to attend next Board Meeting as an observer

·       If Board and potential Trustee are in agreement, invitation to join the Board

At that stage, we’ll also ask for details of two referees. All applicants selected to be a Trustee will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
