We want to make the wonder of science accessible for everyone, wherever they may be. Apart from engaging students and teachers in person, we will make available online a set of relevant educational materials that can be accessed anywhere at any time!
Science on a Shoestring will be a collection of simple ideas for activities to visualise and engage with science using low-cost or salvaged materials commonly found on Ghanian streets, homes, or even rubbish dumps – and combining them with the creativity, ingenuity, and craftsmanship of the Ghanaian people.

Each presented activity will offer a step-by-step, easy to follow instruction video, combined with photos and diagrams to guide the reader from concept to execution and real-world application.
Get Involved!
If you are an expert equipment maker or tinkerer, teacher, science communicator, enthusiastic geek (or all of the above!) we want your help to make Science on a Shoestring as comprehensive and tried-and-tested as possible. We are currently working on building the required platform where the materials will be shared, but would love to hear from you in the meantime!
If you would like to be involved or find out a bit more please email Svet.
